Final pineapple

Finished at last. It was drawn A3 size so getting the close up detail finished took longer than I expected.

I've just about finished the body of the pineapple, I'll fine tune it once the top's done.

I'm going to start the leaves now. I'm quite pleased with how it's looking.
(The actual pineapple that I'm using for reference is not looking very nice now, it's still sitting on my desk but isn't very happy!)

I'm drawing a pineapple from life in Photoshop at the moment, so I thought I'd post a couple of work in progress shots.
The pineapple's been sitting on my desk for 3 days and has gone a funny shade of brown and is starting to smell a bit funny! So I'm having to resort to copying a lot of it from my photos (I don't want to draw a brown pineapple)!
It's not the easiest of fruit to draw. The other illustrations took me between 2 and 4 hours to draw, but not this one, (I am doing other stuff at the minute though).
Anyway I'll post the finished illustration as soon as it's finished.
